At the same time, China's cultural and creative industries are booming. Hongshan culture is one of the precious cultural heritages of China; it is the most developed Neolithic culture in Northeast China and even the whole of Northeast Asia so far, representing the highest level of prehistoric culture in this region. But compared with the research on Hongshan cultural theory, the research on Hongshan cultural creative product design could be more robust. So, the research's primary aim is to discover patterns' aesthetic characteristics and then concede the very significant characteristics in Hongshan culture. Resulting from that, researchers will explore the significance of the unique patterns of Hongshan culture in creative product design. With the idea of "tradition + innovation", traditional culture and creativity are integrated to create more cultural added value for products. It breaks through the limitations of text, geography, and language, makes the information more intuitive, and creates a unique appeal of great significance.
Lin Lin Nur Hisham Ibrahim Neesa Ameera Mohamed Salim Copyright (c) 2023 Lin Lin, Nur Hisham Ibrahim, Neesa Ameera Mohamed Salim https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/deed.en 2023-12-07 2023-12-07 2 1 1 5 10.37698/jac.v2i1.210 Gandalia Arts: The Reflection of Character Education Value https://journal.ucyp.edu.my/index.php/JAC/article/view/211
andalia Arts: The Reflection of Character Education Value in Tambaknegara Village Communities, Rawalo District, Banyumas Regency examines two aspects, including The Existence of Gandalia Arts, and the main element is The Reflection of Character Education Value in Gandalia Arts. These two aspects were studied in the Analytical Qualitative Research Design, with a Case Study Approach based on the Centre for Curriculum Research and Development of the Ministry of National Education (2010: 9-10). Searching for data in this article used observational studies, interviews, documentation studies, and literature studies. In testing the validity of the data, this study used the triangulation method through the following processes: data reduction, data display, data analysis, and data conclusion.

The study shows that Gandalia arts still exist until this decade. There has been a change in the form of Gandalia Arts since born in 1925. The Gandalia arts grew from individual instruments that were also functional for repelling “hama” (Javanese languages for pests, such as monkeys and wild boar) in the field to the Performance of Musical-Dance Drama called Gandalia. In another aspect, the character education value in Gandalia arts was in line with the Curriculum of the Ministry of National Education's Research and Development Centre (2010: 9-10) as follows, (1) patience, (2) hard work, (3) independent, (4) care for the environment, (5) positive character values, (6) social values, (7) responsibility, (8) religious values, (9) love the motherland, (10) the value of tolerance, (11) the value of appreciating achievement, and (12) curiosity.
Indra Galih Pamungkas Muhammad Jazuli Restu Lanjari Copyright (c) 2023 Indra Galih Pamungkas, Muhammad Jazuli, Restu Lanjari https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/deed.en 2023-12-08 2023-12-08 2 1 6 11 10.37698/jac.v2i1.211 Mah Meri Mask Digital Preservation Via White Light Three-Dimensional (3D) Scanner in Malaysia https://journal.ucyp.edu.my/index.php/JAC/article/view/213
This paper presents a process of capturing three-dimensional(3d) data using a coloured 3D scanner of the Mah Meri mask for a culture and heritage digital preservation effort. Mah Meri is among many indigenous people who reside in the peninsular of Malaysia. The mask of Mah Meri was once used in their ritual to cask out the sickness from the patient. Each mask has its name and story inspired by the shaman’s dream. Now, mask carving become one of their sources of income. Around the world, artefacts of culture and heritage are decaying due to human activities and mother nature. Mah Meri tribe also is not excluded from this gruesome threat. Being hampered by modernisation and deforestation, the number of carvers is declining, and the wood source is also disappearing. The effort of preserving the mask was conducted with the collaboration between the Digital Capture (Digicap) Research Group of Multimedia University and the Centre for Creative Content and Digital Innovation (3CDI) of University Malaya with the support of the Museum of Asian Art is one of many efforts to preserve this tangible culture and heritage artefact of Malaysia.
Muhammad Asyraf Mhd Pauzi Khong Chee Weng Harold M Thwaites Faridah Noor Mohd Noor Copyright (c) 2023 Muhammad Asyraf Mhd Pauzi, Khong Chee Weng, Harold M Thwaites, Faridah Noor Mohd Noor https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/deed.en 2023-12-14 2023-12-14 2 1 12 17 10.37698/jac.v2i1.213 The Use of Simulation Light and Moving Images in Determining Data for Artificial Colouration Lure Design (Top Water) For Sebarau Fish Species https://journal.ucyp.edu.my/index.php/JAC/article/view/214
Lure fishing is a popular recreational sportfishing game in Malaysia and easy excess in smaller river basins, lakes, and reservoirs. The classic colour of trust within the angler's community on 'Sebarau' recreational fishing activities has significantly penetrated the contradiction of colour theories and contributed to the theoretical fishing success rate. Significantly less local research examining how artificial lure colour works for Sebarau fish species in natural habitat responses (such as light transmittance, feeding pattern, water condition, seasonal etc.) The evolution of artificial lure design, especially on topwater by type, size, action ability, weight, and other exaggerated values, consistently increases demand in the market. However, lure colour selection has been popular with the classic of trust. Very little research has been investigated on how the dedicated fish's eyesight attracts lure colouration and influences the catching rate for a fishing trip.
Ku Ahmad Adzam Ku Saud Hushinaidi Abdul Hamid Muhammad Asyraf Mhd Pauzi Copyright (c) 2023 Ku Ahmad Adzam Ku Saud, Hushinaidi Abdul Hamid, Muhammad Asyraf Mhd Pauzi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/deed.en 2023-12-14 2023-12-14 2 1 18 31 10.37698/jac.v2i1.214 Makyung in Metaverse: Issues and Challenges of Delivering Performing Arts Education in The Virtual Worlds https://journal.ucyp.edu.my/index.php/JAC/article/view/216
Metaverse potentially translates physical face-to-face (f2f) education into the virtual environment. Current research indicates that the technology is already employed in social and gaming activities yet is still in its infancy in education, particularly in teaching Makyung (noun: [ma/. yung] alternative spelling: Mak Yong/Makyong) performing arts. This study aims to examine the potentials, issues and challenges associated with tutoring performing arts in the metaverse through observing an adiguru (master) tutoring Makyung class in a virtual world (metaverse) platform that is accessible through Virtual Reality (VR) and web. A cross-sectional study is conducted involving Malaysian educators and cultural experts using a semi-structured interview. A thematic analysis is carried out based on the focus group interview, and open-ended questionnaires are transcribed verbatim. Findings showed that despite tutors being challenged by movement limitation, self-regulation, sense of presence, technological competency, and e-learning system support, such platforms provided a potential domain for aspiring practitioners. Considering the challenges, the metaverse could be beneficial for delivering cultural performing arts education. Therefore, future research will focus on designing a metaverse-based performing arts teaching and learning assessment tool.
Siti Noraisyah Abd Rahman Jazmi Izwan Jamal Juhara Ayob Husna Adlyna Sidek Fatimah Abdullah Mohamad Farhan Mohamad Fariz Azmir Mohd Ghazali Muhammad Rasfan Abu Bakar Marzuki Abdullah Copyright (c) 2023 Siti Noraisyah Abd Rahman, Jazmi Izwan Jamal, Juhara Ayob, Husna Adlyna Sidek, Fatimah Abdullah, Mohamad Farhan Mohamad, Fariz Azmir Mohd Ghazali, Muhammad Rasfan Abu Bakar, Marzuki Abdullah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/deed.en 2023-12-14 2023-12-14 2 1 31 46 10.37698/jac.v2i1.216 Proposition of the Geo-Location of The Melaka Sultanate Bridge https://journal.ucyp.edu.my/index.php/JAC/article/view/225
Over five centuries ago, stand a bridge spans the Melaka River linking the cosmopolitan city of Upeh and the royal compound of Melaka Sultanate. Sultan Mansor Syah, the sixth sultan of Melaka, gave the order for its construction. Undoubtedly, the Melaka Sultanate's bridge is a vital and remarkable construct, holding great importance for the city across various levels. Nevertheless, there hasn't been a critical examination to determine the precise location and orientation of the bridge concerning its current geographical environment. This study is a component of a broader reconstruction research project focused on the Melaka Sultanate bridge. Identification of the bridge's position and alignment in relation to the modern geographical context is expected to enhance our understanding and inform the reconstruction process more effectively. In this study, a narrative analysis framework is utilized to meticulously examine descriptive hints regarding the bridge's whereabouts and alignment. These clues are extracted from ancient texts originating from China, Melaka, and Portugal, all written during or near the Sultanate era. The outcomes of the narrative analysis were cross-referenced with a compilation of municipal plans dating from the Portuguese and Dutch periods in Melaka. The objective was to identify discernible indicators that offer credible evidence of the preservation of traditional elements from the Melaka Sultanate's urban structure. These identified elements were then employed as the basis for constructing a compelling argument regarding the bridge's location and alignment. The results of the narrative analysis and visual anthropological study indicate that the original location of the Sultanate bridge was along the riverbank, running in continuous with the primary street along Bendahara Village. Interestingly, this alignment precisely leads to the main gate of A’Famosa, in contrast to the Portuguese and Dutch bridges, which deviate from this main gate. This study is subject to certain limitations as it depends on English translations when interpreting ancient Chinese and Portuguese texts. Nonetheless, the broader objective of this Melaka Sultanate reconstruction project is oriented towards long-term historical tourism, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 8.9 and 11.4.
Fauzan Mustaffa Peter Woods Charles Harold Thwaites Eugene Ch’ng Lim Yan Peng Copyright (c) 2023 Fauzan Mustaffa, Peter Woods Charles, Harold Thwaites, Eugene Ch’ng, Lim Yan Peng https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/deed.en 2023-12-14 2023-12-14 2 1 47 53 10.37698/jac.v2i1.225
